The Vampire Diaries' backdoor pilot is finally here, as the franchise is set to launch its Originals episode tonight on the CW network.

Although Klaus will be on the prowl in the French Quarter, his sister Rebekah (Claire Holt) will be holding onto some resentments toward her brother, according to TVLine.

Should The Originals get the green light for a series, Rebekah would indeed be a permanent cast member on it, and surely play a crucial role in Klaus' life.

Holte spoke to the about the upcoming spin-off, and also elaborated on its creative intricacies in the process.

"It absolutely looks and feels different. Just shooting in New Orleans makes it different. There's so much production value there. Everything looks beautiful. It's so historic. The colors are vibrant. It really elevated the episode. And then tonally, it's a different feel. It's a little darker. The voodoo and the witches of New Orleans add a new element to the show," she said.

Although a majority of The Originals cast are bi-products of The Vampire Diaries, Holte explains that the dynamic between the new show's characters is unsimilar nonetheless.

"The character dynamics are different. It's still in keeping with The Vampire Diaries and what makes the show popular. [But] it's taking it to a new level. I'm really excited for fans to see it," Holt added.

The Vampire Diaries will be airing its Originals episode on Thursday, April 25 at 8/7c on the CW network. Keep checking back for more of the latest information.
