To the excitement of many, The Vampire Diaries finally aired its Originals episode on Thursday night. While the respective backdoor pilot had several notable storylines going on, it was the revelation of a pregnancy that seemingly drew the most attention.

It was revealed that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) had a one-night stand with werewolf Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), which resulted in her pregnancy.

In the episode, a witch stated that since the child entered the world as a werewolf prior to becoming a vampire, it's quite feasible for the infant to turn into a werewolf baby.

Klaus was reluctant to believe that the baby was even his. However, both Hayley and the witches are claiming that it's indeed his.

With Klaus' love for Caroline (Candice Accola) extremely deep, the sticky situation could serve to complicate things for both Hayley and his offspring.

Although Klaus will be on the prowl in the French Quarter, his sister Rebekah (Claire Holt) will continue to hold onto some resentments toward her brother, according to TVLine.

Should The Originals get the green light as a series, Rebekah would become a permanent cast member, and have an effect on Klaus' life.

Holte spoke to the about the spin-off, and also elaborated on its creative intricacies.

"It absolutely looks and feels different. Just shooting in New Orleans makes it different. There's so much production value there. Everything looks beautiful. It's so historic. The colors are vibrant. It really elevated the episode. And then tonally, it's a different feel. It's a little darker. The voodoo and the witches of New Orleans add a new element to the show," she said.

Next up for The Vampire Diaries will be its She's Come Undone episode on Thursday, May 2 at 8/7c on the CW network. Keep checking back for more of the latest information.
