'Dexter' Season 8 Spoilers: Julian Sands Set To Guest Star As An International Businessman Amid Other Castings [VIDEO]
With its eighth and last season just a few months away, more information on the upcoming installment of Dexter continues to surface.
The latest news from the Showtime hit comes by way of a casting update, as actor Julian Sands has reportedly signed on to guest star.
According to TV Guide, Sands will come on board to play Miles Foster, a rich international businessman, but further details have yet to be announced.
The actor is mostly known for his previous roles on the TV show 24 and hit movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
The casting of Last Resort's Darri Ingolfsson had also been made official by Entertainment Weekly in late March. He's said to be playing an antiques dealer of old medieval equipment who will begin dating Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) neighbor.
In other Dexter news, Dexter Daily reported that Geoff Pierson (Matthews) will be given a meatier role on the show in wake of Maria LaGuerta's (Lauren Velez) death.
Matthews played a crucial part in season 7, as LaGuerta began sharing her suspicions of Dexter as the Bay Harbor Butcher with him.
Although Matthews did attempt to investigate LaGuerta's theory without leaving any stones unturned, all he found was what he thought was additional evidence supporting Doakes as the person behind it.
Since last season saw Matthews retire, it can only be assumed that he'll be making a return to the force.
Dexter will be kicking off its eighth season on Sunday, June 30, at 9 p.m. EDT. Keep checking back for the latest scoop on America's favorite serial killer.
