The most unpredictable awards show of the year is going down this weekend, and like so many MTV VMAs awards shows before it, the 2016 telecast is sure to be just as memorable.

Starting with red carpet coverage at 7 p.m., followed by a pre-show at 8 p.m., and the awrads themselves at 9 p.m. this year's show will be slightly different from year's past, with no official host, though DJ Khaled is scheduled to host the pre-show and act as a commentator during the rest of the evening.

And while some fan favorites won't be attending this year's show (Taylor Swift is not attending since she wasn't nominated), and others may be attending but won't perform or present (Lady Gaga), other big names in the industry will definitely be present for the show and taking the stage.

The 2016 show already has some epic performances lined up for those watching, with Future and Rihanna each expected to take the stage, while Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande will also perform their song "Side to Side."

Beyonce and Adele are both also rumored to perform though neither one has been confirmed.

However, two of the most epic performances expected at the show are set to be Kanye West (who is reportedly being given four minutes to do whatever he pleases), and Britney Spears, who will perform with G-Eazy, marking the first time in seven years that she has performed at the show.

Among other people who can be expected to grace the stage at the show are the full list of presenters, including comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, Jay Pharoah and Nicole Byer, Musicians Alicia Keys, Jaden Smith, Rita Ora, Fifth Harmony, Bebe Rexha, Shamiek Moore and Tove Lo, Actor Ansel Elgort and of course, West's wife, Kim Kardashian West.

Until the show on Sunday, fans can still vote for their favorites in both Best New Artist (Bryson Tiller, Desiigner, DNCE, Lukas Graham, and Zara Larsson) as well as Song of Summer ( Sia's "Cheap Thrills," Selena Gomez's "Kill Em With Kindness," The Chainsmokers Ft. Halsey's "Closer," Calvin Harris Ft. Rihanna "This Is What You Came For," Fifth Harmony Ft. Fetty Wap "All In My Head (Flex)," Major Lazer ft. Justin Bieber and Mo "Cold Water," Nick Jonas ft. Ty Dolla $ign "Bacon," Kent Jones "Don't Mind," Justin Timberlake "Can't Stop The Feeling," and Drake ft. Kyla & Wizkid "One Dance.")

The VMA's action all begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 28 on MTV.
