Still a few months away from airing its eighth and final season, Showtime's Dexter surely won't be pulling any punches in terms of its upcoming installment.

While Dexter (Michael C. Hall) has done fairly well at keeping his serial killer ways a secret, his dark passenger is clearly in the midst of being found out by the world.

In a brand new season 8 trailer (viewable below) , Dexter contemplates whether he can uphold his façade. However, the clip comes to an end with the blood spatterer wrapped to a table in plastic, much like his many past victims.

"How many more people have to suffer to keep my identity a secret? Can this charade go on forever, or will I finally hit a dead end?" Dexter says.

A second promo trailer focuses on Deborah (Jennifer Carpenter), as Dex narrates throughout the footage.

"Who is Deb now: a killer, or just an innocent victim of my mistakes? She can live with my dark secret, but can she live with her own?"

In other news on the show front, actor Julian Sands has reportedly signed on to guest star on the series.

According to TV Guide, Sands will come on board to play Miles Foster, a rich international businessman, but further details have yet to be announced.

The actor is mostly known for his previous roles on the TV show 24 and hit movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Last Resort's Darri Ingolfsson had also been cast, but in late March, according to Entertainment Weekly . He's said to be playing an antiques dealer of old medieval equipment that begins dating Dexter's neighbor.

Dexter will be kicking off its eighth season on Sunday, June 30, at 9 p.m. EDT.
