Sofia Vergara Surrogate for Next Child is Needed, She Tells Cosmopolitan; 'I Don't Want to Wait Forever' [VIDEO]
Sofia Vergara has no intentions of waiting forever to have a child with her fiancé Nick Loeb.
The 40-year old bombshell graces the June 2013 issue Cosmopolitan and opened up to the magazine about her career and personal life. She was the highest paid actress of 2012 and became engaged to entrepreneur Loeb, 37, that same year. It has been quite the whirlwind for Vergara but she is already thinking of what the future may have in store.
"I've never had a plan for anything. I know I'm not going to get any more shows like Modern Family," she said. "If it ends in five years, it would be great to do movies and focus on things like my Kmart line."
Vergara also went on the record about having children with Loeb. She has a 21-year-old son, Manolo Gonzalez, from a former relationship and addressed rumors that she would have to use a surrogate for her next child.
"I had to go to my doctor's office a hundred million times to do injections. The [rumor] probably came from that," she said. "My doctor had told me 'We have a small window.' I said, 'That's so rude!' I already have a kid, so I never thought I would need to do that."
However, the procedures were necessary. Vergara admitted that she will in fact have to use a surrogate for any future child she wants to have
"I will have to use a surrogate, because I had thyroid cancer and lots of radiation. I don't want to wait forever, but not yet, because I'm working like an animal," she said.
The Modern Family star is in no rush to make her relationship with Loeb legal. Since the two of them have already been married and divorced to others, neither is inclined to rush down the aisle. Vergara also pointed to her engagement as the reason why she cannot just get married soon, saying a lot of hectic planning went into Loeb proposing.
"He was already married with a big wedding and I was already married with a big wedding, so we're going to something but not right now," she said. "When he proposed, it was my birthday, and I'd flown more than 100 family and friends to Mexico for six days of partying. It took me forever to arrange the logistics! If I had known I was going to get engaged, I don't do this stupid birthday."
