The identity of the hospital killer still has not been figured out by anyone in Port Charles, but now someone not related to the staff there will figure out the truth about the culprit, though it may be too late to stop him on General Hospital.

After being shown the photo of the cufflinks, Ava (Maura West) remembered seeing them on Paul (Richard Burgi) during one of their trysts, and she decided to search his hotel room to confirm her suspicions. But while she didn't find the cufflinks, she did find something more shocking-a pouch of syringes and derisifol-which have officially confirmed her suspicions.

"Paul's the hospital killer," she says to herself in a preview clip for the Wednesday, August 31 episode.

Whether Ava decides to do the right thing and turn him in to the police, or instead use her knowledge against him to blackmail him into not forcing her to testify against Julian (William DeVry), her actions are still going to be late however, because Paul is ready to strike again, with Monica (Leslie Charleson) as one of his targeted victims, though he could also now be trying to off Hayden (Rebecca Budig) because he believes she saw him in the stairwell during the blackout, where he took action to make sure the person he believes saw him with a syringe in Monica's office wouldn't be able to talk.

Elizabeth was pushed down the stairs and is not suffering from a head injury and several other injuries in general, and as Griffin (Matt Cohen) and Finn (Michael Easton) work to save her, Franco (Roger Howarth) is left worrying about the woman he loves, and he may need to learn that despite her being conscious when he found her, she is far from in the clear, and could instead be on the brink of death.

"Elizabeth isn't out of the woods yet," Griffin cautions Franco in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
