'Inside Amy Schumer' TV Show Review [VIDEO]: Raunchy Sketch Comedy Series Is Comedian's First Go At TV
From the get go, Inside Amy Schumer gets right to the point in terms of its raunchy show content.
The woman behind Comedy Central's brand new sketch comedy show is none other than the comedian and creator herself, Amy Schumer. Schumer is well known amongst her fans for her vulgar sense of humor on topics that range from race to sex.
While she's primarily a regular on the stand-up stage, Schumer is giving it her first go at series television.
Schumer's show debuted on April 30 and covered various segments such as her per usual stand-up, man on the street, and a one-on-one interview.
In one notable scene from the episode, Amy takes her friends to a place called O'Nutters, which is considered the male version of Hooters, where the guys working there don tight crotched outfits.
Entertainment Weekly praised Schumer's unorthodox yet highly effective comedic approach to her audience.
"There's something communal about Schumer's approach to comedy. It's not just about punchlines. It's about conversations. And she makes the women around her seem funnier, just by letting them in on the joke."
While The Hollywood Reporter did give Inside Amy Schumer an admiral review, it still managed to point out some of the series' supposed flaws.
"In its scripted segments, the series is stylishly produced, and its wit is dry while its tone is bubbly. Not every segment is a hit, but the ones that are deserve to be quoted, repeated and discussed."
Inside Amy Schumer airs on Tuesdays at 10:30 PM EDT on the Comedy Central Network.
