Lady Gaga has teased a few details about her new American Horror Story character for the first time.

Gaga just released her first pop single in three years, "Perfect Illusion", which also coincides pretty perfectly with the season 6 premiere of American Horror Story this Wednesday. The singer/actress spoke with BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show in London Friday morning about her new song and teased her new AHS character as well.

"The character I'm playing this year on 'Horror Story', she's quite grounded," Gaga said. "That might sound ridiculous once you see who she is, but she's very 'in the earth.'"

Gaga's previous American Horror Story character, Hotel's The Countess, was a vampiric woman with otherworldly powers, so her new role seems to be an interesting change of pace.

Meanwhile, American Horror Story just released a new promo for season 6 which is set to "Perfect Illusion". The trailer cycles through all the other teasers released so far while the single plays, the song's dark sound and subject matter gelling nicely with the imagery.

So what else is known so far about season 6? Frankly, there still isn't much. Many actors like Gaga have confirmed their involvement, including Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Matt Bomer, but character details have been few and far between. Additionally, the plot and theme of season 6 remains a mystery, which is a decidedly different approach compared to previous seasons. In seasons past, fans have had months and months of knowing the theme, many of the characters and more, but season 6 has been completely shrouded in mystery.

Thus far, the trailers have all been centered on various horror concepts while not revealing exactly what season 6 might be about. FX president John Landgraf previously revealed that only one of the released trailers had to do with the new season, the others being decoys.

American Horror Story season 6 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
