Anticipation continues to build for Dexter's eighth and final season, which is set to air in June.

The upcoming installment will come at the heels of a season three cliffhanger involving the death of LaGuerta (Lauren Velez), who was shot by Deb (Jennifer Carpenter).

Actress Bethany Joy Lenz will be a joining the cast as Cassie, a former finance executive aiming to find a more peaceful life. However, she will closing in on Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and will return in multiple episodes in the season.

In an interview with Shine On Media, Lenz couldn't say too much in regards to Dexter due to confidentiality restrictions but noted, "I have a nice juicy chunk to bite into there for awhile."

In the most recent season eight trailer, shown below, Dexter contemplates whether he can uphold his façade. The clip comes to an end with the blood spatterer wrapped to a table in plastic, much like his many past victims.

"How many more people have to suffer to keep my identity a secret? Can this charade go on forever, or will I finally hit a dead end?" Dexter says.

In a second promo trailer Deborah (Jennifer Carpenter) is the focal point, as Dex narrates throughout the footage: "Who is Deb now: a killer, or just an innocent victim of my mistakes? She can live with my dark secret, but can she live with her own?"

Showtime's Dexter will be kicking off its eighth season on Sunday, June 30, at 9 p.m. EST. Keep checking back for the latest scoop on America's favorite serial killer.
