With just a little over a month and a half left until its season 8 premiere, Showtime's Dexter will look to go out on a bang in its final installment.

A new promo video released shows the cast and the crew discuss Deb's (Jennifer Carpenter) transition from the police department to a killer, as the seventh season saw her slaying LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) in order to preserve Dex's (Michael C. Hall's) serial killer secret.

Dread Central reported that the program will kick off six months following LaGuerta's death, with Dexter still attempting to balance his unraveling life as a dad and vigilante murderer. Deb will also be struggling to cope with her past actions while a mystery woman comes to work at Miami Metro and gives up information about Dex's past.

A second promo trailer shows Deborah as the focal point, with Dexter narrating throughout the footage: "Who is Deb now: a killer, or just an innocent victim of my mistakes? She can live with my dark secret, but can she live with her own?"

Showtime's Dexter will be kicking off its eighth season on Sunday, June 30, at 9 p.m. EST. Keep checking back for the latest scoop on America's favorite serial killer.
