The Black Canary has returned.

Katie Cassidy (Laurel) is back on Arrow, and her 100th episode appearance will function independently of either Flashpoint or flashbacks. Is your interest piqued? Ours sure is.

Laurel's death shook the Arrow fandom to the core last year, and, when news of the character's premiere return dropped at San Diego Comic-Con, viewers we're ecstatic. While Cassidy's role in "Legacy" is probably predicated on the Flash's timeline shakeup, her purpose in the four-show crossover event is definitely not.

"Arrow 100th Episode Table Read. No Flashpoint. No flashbacks," executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased on Friday.

So how will Laurel find her way into the November episode? Considering Supergirl's Kara Danvers will shoulder the burden of hopping from series to series, there is a chance viewers will meet another Earth's iteration of the Black Canary, much like Earth 2's Black Siren paid a visit to Central city last spring. "It's an external threat from outside the shows that will involve Supergirl coming over to The Flash, then Arrow then Legends of Tomorrow," Guggenheim said of the impetus for the crossover, according to Cinema Blend. Alternately, Laurel could hitch a ride with her sis and the Legends of Tomorrow. As always, however, Arrow will probably go for an option fans haven't even considered. In the meantime, check out the latest teasers from the cast: "Sure, the story of our 100th episode is important. But not as important as me wearing Oliver's favorite pea coat," Stephen Amell (Oliver) teased.

"First day of shooting #Arrow100," Paul Blackthorne (Quentin) tweeted. "Time flies when you're having fun and working with this fine gent!"

Stay tuned for more BTS news from Arrow's 100th episode!
