Belle (Emilie de Ravin) voiced her thoughts on Rumple's (Robert Carlyle) actions in the season 6 premiere of ABC's Once Upon a Time, signaling a turning point in their relationship.

Belle and Rumple have certainly been through the wringer, relationship-wise, throughout the extent of Once Upon a Time. This struggled continued in Sunday night's season 6 premiere, when Belle was reminded of Rumple's various misdeeds just before she was awoken. She then informed Rumple that she was not interested in staying with Rumple anymore.

This is certainly a troubling sign for all the "Rumbelle" shippers out there, but it's possible that their unborn child could keep them together. OUAT co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz spoke about the "Rumbelle" relationship in a new TVLine interview.

"Belle really is kind of in a place where she's given up on Rumple," Kitsis noted, "but they have a child and that makes things messier, because you actually have to put aside your own feelings and put the child first," even if she is still "severely disappointed" in him.

As for Rumple, he still thinks he can be a good partner and father, even if he knows his own villainous urges cannot be suppressed.

"When they're in the dream world and she asks if he would change for her and he says, 'For you, I would be the best man I can be,' it's a very carefully chosen set of words," Horowitz explained. He'll be the best man he can be, but he can't quite get to that place of actually being a good man. [T]hat's the push/pull in that relationship, because she does love him and see the good and the bad in him and sees the potential, and it's that frustration that continues to grow."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
