'Pokemon GO' Updates: PokeGOD Emerges As Ultimate Cheat, Gets Apple's Approval? [VIDEO]
Since the launch of Pokemon GO, Niantic has been pretty transparent about its stance regarding cheaters in the game. With multitudes of accounts banned permanently, it is very remarkable to see a legitimate Pokemon GO cheating app being legitimately sold in the iOS App Store.
PokeGOD - The Ultimate Cheating Tool
PokeGOD (previously known as PokeBot), a spoofing application that allows Pokemon GO players to use a bot in order to simulate walking to certain destinations and catching Pokemon, has continued to be made available in the iOS App Store. This is extremely surprising, considering that the application actually advertises itself as a real Pokemon GO cheating app.
"PokéBot allows you to do things that no other cheating app for Pokemon GO has allowed you to do before. This app will become your personal cheating bot and companion that will let you catch Pokemon and collect items from spinning Pokestops without leaving the comforts of your workplace, school, home, or wherever you may be," PokeGOD's description in the iOS App Store read.
How Does PokeGOD Work?
PokeGOD has been quite resilient compared to other cheating programs in its category due to its clever use of bots in the game. Niantic determines if players are using bots by analyzing numerous factors of the players' gameplay, one of them being the player's walking speed in the game. Players who use bots that simulate walking or traveling at ludicrous speeds have been banned, for example.
However, PokeGOD has a workaround for this by simply limiting the bot's movements across the map.
"The app works by spoofing your Pokemon GO account's location, and simulating a walk between your current location, and the location of the Pokemon/Pokestop. When the bot has reached the destination after "walking," it will tell Pokemon GO that you are actually at that location, and then subsequently attempt the catch/spin. We find the shortest path between your location and the target, then spoof the walk at normal biking speed (to avoid detection)," PokeGOD's description read.
Unfortunately, PokeGOD is only available for iOS devices at the moment. The application also costs $1.99 to purchase.Since the launch of Pokemon GO, Niantic has been pretty transparent about its stance regarding cheaters in the game.
