As HBO's True Blood quickly approaches its sixth season, an increasing amount of speculation has been building up regarding the rumored death of an unknown major character.

Although the killing off of a fan favorite on the vampire series doesn't necessarily mean that the future victim won't return, loyalists are certainly not looking forward to it.

One of the rumors floating around the Internet is that Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) may be the chosen one to bite the bust. While he still hasn't been confirmed to die, recent spoilers indicated that fans should be anticipating it.

On May 7, E! Online posted the following teaser on Season 6, indicating that the respective offing could happen a lot earlier than fans may be assuming.

"The big death that's happening this season? It might happen a lot sooner than we originally thought. It's in the second half of the season, but before the finale."

True Blood will only be airing 10 episodes this season as opposed to its usual 12. It's set to make its return on June 16 on the HBO network.
