There's been endless rumors for a while that the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead would reveal that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) had killed two members of Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group and not just one, but now the baseball-bat weidling actor has gone on the record to reveal what he really meant by the comments that started off the rumor.

In an interview with Den of Geek last week, Morgan seemed to hint that more than one fan favorite character was going to get their brains brutally bashed in by Negan's barbed-wire bat.

"It's going to be a lot more than the people are expecting. You're about to see someone that you love just f***ing take it. It's violent. It's more than violent. It's gut-wrenching," he said in that interview.

However, now that the comments have been taken as a hint that Negan actually kills two people in the premiere and not just one, Morgan is clarifying them, telling Variety Latino that he meant that Negan would also kill again during the season, not necessarily twice in the same episode.

"That's not what I said. I did an interview with this guy and I was talking about Negan's arc and what he does in the course of being Negan on The Walking Dead," he said. "Instead of talking about the one person Negan kills-because Negan kills a lot more than one person on the lineup. And somehow he pieced that all together in such a way that it turned into the articles that he wrote. It was to get people fired up. Negan does kill a lot of people in the next couple of years. Before we even meet him he's killed a lot of people. Negan's been around for a long time."

Fans have been on edge trying to guess who was killed since the season six finale back in April, which ended on a cliff-hanger with Negan bashing the person's head in-but through the victim's point of view, meaning fans couldn't identify who it actually was.

The Walking Dead Season 7 premieres Sunday, October 25 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
