'Secrets and Lies' Season 2 Spoilers: Eric No Longer Cooperating With Cornell's Investigation? [VIDEO]
He knows he is innocent of his wife Kate's (Jordana Brewster) murder, but now, after realizing that no matter what he does, Detective Cornell (Juliette Lewis) will target him as her main suspect, Eric Warner (Michael Ealy) will officially give up and stop cooperating with her investigation on Secrets and Lies.
Knowing that Cornell is continuing to dig up things from his past, including another relationship he had before Kate which may give her sufficient reason to believe he may have gotten violent and pushed his wife off of a roof, Eric will decide he is finished with cooperating, and will even decide to challenge Cornell to find something she can arrest him for.
"Tina Sawyer told me her side of the story, and I would like to hear yours," she tells Eric in a preview clip for the Sunday, October 16 episode, referencing Eric's ex-girlfriend. "Mr. Warner, tell me about your relationship with Miss Sawyer."
"No," Eric replies.
"You don't want to give me your version of events?" She asks.
Eric will then explain to her that he won't do it anymore because he realizes there is no point in doing so since she won't believe him anyway.
"There's no point," he says. "...I don't care. I didn't kill my wife, so it doesn't matter. I told you about Kate's black eye, and I cam to you about Liam's disappearance, and nothing gets through. Clearly, you don't believe a word that I say. The only thing left for me to do is to stop talking to you."
"Are you now refusing to cooperate with the investigation?" She asks.
"Yes," he answers. "If you want to arrest me, come and get me."
Secrets and Lies airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
