ABC Shows Canceled: 5 Shows Axed Including Happy Endings, Body of Proof, How to Live With Your Parents and Red Widow
ABC has canceled five of its shows.
Happy Endings, Body of Proof, Malibu Country, How to Live with Your Parents and Red Widow have all been canceled by the network.
It was announced that Happy Endings will not return to ABC for a fourth season, although the program could air under a different network. It has been reported that Sony TV, the leading studio behind the series, has pitched to other sources such as USA about airing the show following its cancellation. USA has "expressed interest" and "has had discussions" about picking up Happy Endings.
The show's future was thrown into jeopardy after the network moved it to a Friday night slot, which saw it attract a series low of 2.07 million viewers in January.
This week, rumor had it that Body of Proof would be picked up by the network for a fourth season. However, it has now been reported that ABC is going to replace the show, which starred Dana Delany, Mark Valley and Elyes Gabel, with Killer Women, which it has recently commissioned.
Sitcom Malibu Country ran for one season and 18 episodes before being canceled.
How to Live with Your Parents premiered in April this year, but little over a month later, the show was canceled after one season. Drama series Red Widow, which first aired in March, will not return after its concluding episode, due to be screened tomorrow (May 12).
ABC has picked up 11 other shows, including Once Upon a Time In Wonderland, a spinoff from ABC's Once Upon a Time, which has been renewed for a third season.
Grey's Anatomy and Modern Family are among the shows that have been renewed by the network.
