PBS is set to show another Great Performances presentation Friday night, this one being a production of the classic musical Gypsy.

Musical theater fans will get to see legendary actress Imelda Staunton playing Momma Rose in the London revival of Gypsy. The production, part of the Great Performances series, also stars Peter Davison and Lara Pulver.

The musical centers on Rose as she raises two daughters in the spotlight, with now classic Broadway songs like "Rose's Turn", "Everything's Coming up Roses" and "Let Me Entertain You". Staunton earned rave reviews for her performance, with The Guardian proclaiming, "Every facet of the character is caught by Imelda Staunton who gives one of the greatest performances I've ever seen in musical theatre."

The Times raved, "If you like musical theatre, I urge you to see this stunning revival of one of the greatest Broadway musicals. If you don't like musical theatre, see it anyway."

Staunton has gradually risen in notoriety over the past decade, scoring her first Oscar nomination in 2005 for the film Vera Drake. She would later star as the unlikable Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She has won multiple Olivier Awards in her career, most recently for Gypsy.

Those who wish to watch Great Performances' presentation of Gypsy should tune in at 9 p.m. ET/PT on PBS. The musical lasts for three hours so be ready to settle in!
