'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9 Spoilers: More Cristin Milioti & Long Wedding Weekend Set For Future Installment, VIDEO
How I Met Your Mother ended Season 8 on a high note, as the cast and the crew will now be looking ahead to its ninth and final season.
The eighth season's end shocked viewers when it was finally revealed that actress Cristin Milioti was the Mother in the TV series' title.
According to IGN, HIMYM creators/executive producers Craig Thomas and Carter Bays recently suggested that some massive changes were set to occur in its upcoming installment. Bays himself commented on the all too important task of casting the Mother role.
"It was a pretty big umbrella to fill, casting the title role in a series that's been on the air for eight years. And yet Cristin Milioti is, against all odds, exactly what we were looking for. She made us laugh on 30 Rock, she made us swoon in Once, and her ukulele skills are no joke. We're thrilled to welcome her to the How I Met Your Mother family, and look forward to getting to know her - and the character she plays - much better in the coming final season," he said.
Bays also elaborated on the story arc moving forward into the next season, which will primarily revolve around Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin's (Cobie Smulders) wedding weekend.
"Our ninth season will tell the epic story of the longest wedding weekend ever. We hope you like it. Next stop, Farhampton," he explained.
