'The Amazing Race' Season 29 Update: Why Is Show Still Not Being Given A Home On CBS Line-Up? [VIDEO]
The fall season is almost over on TV and the winter midseason is going to soon begin, but CBS still has not yet given The Amazing Race a home on its network.
Fans have been left hanging since the network announced it wasn't on the fall lineup months ago, and there hasn't been a single word from anyone involved with the show since about when the 29th season, which was filmed earlier this year, would appear on TV screens.
Fans have been left wthout a show now for some time, and the continued wait could lead to trouble for the show if CBS does not make an announcement about it soon, or give it a home in either the midseason that is fast approaching, or one in the spring. A home in the summer TV lineup could also be possible, but it may be too much of a delay for the fans, who could begin to lose hope and then abandon the show all together, because it would be more than a year since season 28 aired and concluded.
A similar situation has befallen a show on ABC, Secrets and Lies. The anthology murder mystery series had a successful first season in the Spring of 2015 on the network, and was renewed for a second season. The show was then left off the schedule completely at ABC, until the fall season of this year. The time between seasons and the forced wait fans had may have contributed to the ratings the show has experienced this season, which have been lower than the first one on average. The first season's 10 episodes averaged around 5.66 million viewers overall. The seven episodes that have aired of season 2 thus far have only averaged a total of 3.28 million viewers.
