'Pretty Little Liars' Season 4 Spoilers: What Does The Lighter Mean For Toby's Future? VIDEO & Details
The ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars Season 3 finale left fans in wonder when they saw Toby (Keegan Allen) getting knocked out unconscious via mystery person, and left with a lighter.
According to Wet Paint, the respective object is apparently the evidence that attaches him to the Thornhill Lodge arson, which is close by.
Keegan himself actually dished to Alloy Entertainment about the meaning of the lighter, and how it will impact his character moving forward.
"Yes, the lighter will affect [Toby]. I'm not sure if you were able to see but it actually has an insignia on it that fans are already trying to decipher. And let me just say they are so smart."
The insignia that the actor was referring to is actually a compass, which has four tradition directions on it, and a northwest one as well.
At first, it seemed as though the northwest was a tribute to the Alfred Hitchock classic North by Northwest, which the show had already paid homage to in Season 3's A dangerous gAme. However, there now appears to be more to the storyline than that.
Pretty Little Liars is set to premiere its fourth season on Tuesday, June 11 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC Family.
The TV series will also be launching a spin-off, titled Ravenswood, which is set to hit the small screen in October.
