'Simpsons' Spoof 'Downton Abbey' Opening Credits For Season Finale [VIDEO]
The long-running animated series is the latest to join the Downton Abbey craze.
The Simpsons debuted a YouTube clip on Wednesday that will air in the show's 24th season finale on Sunday, May 19th. The gag, titled Simpton Abbey, spoofs Downton Abbey's opening credits and uses the same piano theme. Homer walks his dog, has difficulty using an old-fashioned razor and exclaims, "How did we get here?" upon arriving at the Downton mansion.

The season finale of The Simpsons will air Sunday at 8:00 pm on Fox and will feature Marge Simpson bonding with a married man over their love of a similar-sounding show called Upton Rectory.
Downton Abbey has been referenced to and spoofed in the media a lot over the past few weeks. Iron Man 3 featured one of its characters as being obsessed with the costume drama and Diddy made a series of remarks on Twitter hinting that we would be joining the show's fourth season.
The hints turned out to be a reference to a new Funny or Die video called Downton Diddy, in which the rapper pretends to be the show's first black character. See the parody video here:
Downton Abbey is a British costume drama set in the early 1920s, chronicling the lives of the rich Grantham family and the workers that serve them. The series will premiere its fourth season in the UK in Fall 2013 while the US will begin airing it in Spring 2014.
The show has broken records in the U.S., with 24 million total viewers tuning in for the show's third season this spring. It subsequently became the highest-rated drama in PBS history. It has become a worldwide success, with NBC Universal estimating that the show reaches 120 million viewers worldwide.
