'Secrets and Lies' Season 3 Renewal: Juliette Lewis Speaks Out About Shocking Cliffhanger, 'We Just Hope For The Best' [VIDEO]
She and fans may never have a chance to learn what may have happened to her character in the closing moments of the season two finale of Secrets and Lies, but Juliette Lewis isn't letting the chance the show may not be renewed tempt her into revealing anything she may know about Detective Cornell's fate.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lewis discussed all of the big reveals in the two-hour finale episode, and also touched on the big moment with her character, where she walked into her home, noticed it had been broken into, and drew her gun, to find her daughter, out of rehab and clearly high, rifling through her drawers. She then noticed her other gun was missing, and as her daughter simply laughed, Cornell heard an unknown person cock the gun behind her and turned around. The screen then faded to black and three shots rang out.
Cornell's fate was not addressed in Cornell: Confidential online, which caught up with Eric Warner (Michael Ealy) 32 months after his sister was arrested for his wife' murder, when he and his brother Patrick (Charlie Barnett) were reunited after the latter's own prison sentence.
And while she may have theories about what happened with Cornell, Lewis isn't talking-and said all she wants is to know that the show would be picked up for a new season.
"Oh, God. I have no idea. There's a few ideas. The options are endless and really exciting, but I'm not sure what else to say or where ABC will even stand with us. We just hope for the best. You never know-it's all a journey and an adventure. I have theories but I can't say them because I might get in trouble," she said.
The most popular theories have been that Cornell would now become the victim who's murder has to be solved, and that she killed whoever snuck up behind her, and she would now be investigated as a criminal.
As for whether the show would be renewed or not for a third season, ABC has not made any announcements. The second season saw lower numbers than the first in terms of viewers, meaning there is a larger chance it could not be picked up again versus the first season.
