NBC 2017 Schedule: 'Shades of Blue', 'The Blacklist' Spinoff & More Premiere Dates Revealed [VIDEO]
NBC has released its midseason 2017 schedule, revealing premiere dates for Powerless, The Blacklist: Redemption, Little Big Shots, Chicago Justice, Shades of Blue, Trial & Error and Great News.
Little Big Shots, the Kids Say the Darndest Things-esque variety show hosted by Steve Harvey, will return for its second season on Sunday, March 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. The show became the most watched new series of the season when it aired this past spring, according to Nielsen's Live+7 day ratings.
Sunday, March 5 will also feature the premiere of the latest show in Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise: Chicago Justice. The series centers on the State Attorney's group of prosecutors, and stars Carl Weathers, Philip Winchester, Jon Seda, Monica Barbaro and Joelle Carter. This series will premiere that Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Finally, the season 2 premiere of Shades of Blue will air Sunday, March 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The Jennifer Lopez-Ray Liotta series had previously aired on Thursdays, where it became NBC's most watched new Thursday show in 12 years.
NBC will also be using The Voice to launch three new series in the spring. The new comedy Trial & Error, starring Nicholas D'Agosto, John Lithgow, Sherri Shepherd and Jaime Mays, premieres Tuesday, March 7 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT and will then air new episodes at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. every subsequent Tuesday.
Then there's Great News, the new sitcom from 30 Rock vets Tracey Wigfield, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. The comedy starring Andrea Martin and Briga Heelan will launch Tuesday, April 25 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Thursdays will also serve as a launching pad for a pair of ambitious new shows. Powerless comes from the world of DC and stars Vanessa Hudgens as the new Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, vowing to make the world feel safer in a world overrun by superheroes, who tend to cause a lot of collateral damage. The series premieres Thursday, Feb. 2 at 8:30 p.m. following Superstore.
Then there's The Blacklist spinoff, The Blacklist: Redemption, which finds the various criminals and villains from The Blacklist teaming up to rehabilitate their image and find redemption, by teaming up for the greater good. This spinoff begins Thursday, Feb. 23 at 10 p.m.
