On Sunday night, the WWE aired its Extreme Rules pay-per-view. While the card itself looked a bit depleted, the performances alone turned out to be quite stellar.

In the pre-show matchup, the WWE brass once again attempted to get The Miz over as a babyface against Cody Rhodes. After several reversals, Miz eventually locked in the Figure Four, and won the match.

In a Wrestlemania rematch, Y2J Chris Jericho got the best of Fandango this time around. Jericho hit the Codebreaker on the dancing superstar to gain the victory.

The Shield's Dean Ambrose got his faction its first taste of gold, as he hit the Headlock Driver on Kofi Kingston to become the new U.S. champion.

Sheamus prevailed against The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry with a brogue kick. The Irishman managed to get himself out of the World's Strongest Slam, and touched his fourth corner in the strap match for the win.

Alberto Del Rio prevailed in a No. 1 contender's "I Quit" match against Jack Swagger. The Mexican Aristocrat slapped on the Cross Armbreaker, and Swagger uttered the words, "I quit."

Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns defeated Team Hell No to bring the tag straps to The Shield. Reigns put Daniel Bryan on top of his shoulders while Rollins hit a flying knee on him to get the pin.

Randy Orton prevailed against The Big Show with a punt across his head in a matchup that featured objects such as a kendo stick and a steel chair.

John Cena kept his WWE Championship via draw with Ryback. Medical technicians came to the scene while the champ was assisted onto a stretcher. Ryback was able to stand up, ultimately being assisted by referees up the ramp.

Brock Lesnar settled the score with Triple H, as he hit The Game in the face with a sledgehammer and dropped him with the F5 for the victory.
