Jacoby Jones 'Dancing With The Stars' Season 16 Performance VIDEO with Partner Karina Smirnoff : Jive, Cha Cha Cha, Freestyle
Dancing With The Stars had close score averages going into the final week of competition. Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff were trailing in fourth place with an average of 25.3 for the previous nine weeks.
The duo had to compete in three dances for the first segment of the season finale. First up for Jacoby and Karina was the Jive. Starting at the judges' table, the pair moved out onto the dance floor. With Jacoby decked out in a purple dress shirt and suspenders, Karina sported a purple sequined moved to the dance floor to Metro Station's "Shake It." By the end of the dance the judges were impressed by the pairs energy. Len Goodman stated that this dance is all about improvement and he did see crisper footwork from Jacoby. Bruno Tonioli applauded Jacoby's energy but stated that he did miss a beat every now and them, an observation which Carrie Ann Inaba agreed with. However, the pair received 9s across the board.
The second piece of the evening's competition was the Cha Cha Cha relay. In this dance, each couple was assigned to dance a different segment of the same song. Scoring ranged from 5 points for the pair who came in first to 2 points for the ones who came in fourth. Jacoby and Karina drew the second performance slot. The pair came in fourth and received 2 points.
Last came the much-anticipated freestyle dance. Competitors were free to chose whatever style and music they so desired. Jacoby and Karina took the stage to the sound of drums in a routine that used to colors of the Baltimore Ravens while paying homage to New Orleans. Set to Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us," the dance exuded energy. However, the judges said the use of so many other performers may have overpowered Jacoby's performance. The pair received 9s across the board.
