Although filming has yet to begin for the eighth season of BBC's hit TV series Doctor Who, this hasn't seemed to halt showrunner Steven Moffat from pushing forward with the process.

While he was honored with the International Peabody Award in New York City on Monday, Moffat was queried by BuzzFeed on how far in advance he plans for an upcoming season.

"Yes, I'm afraid. We have to work quite a long way in advance. The next season is plotted out. I always end up complaining about it, but it's quite fun. I'm just making up nonsensical adventures, what's wrong with that?"

Although the showrunner didn't address the future status of John Hurt, who appeared at the end of The Name of the Doctor, the character will undoubtedly be showing up in the program's upcoming 50th anniversary episode. It's still not certain whether or not the character will be gracing the small screen for Season 8.

No official airdate has yet to be announced for the upcoming season of Doctor Who. However, its 50th anniversary special will be airing on November 23, which will be followed by the Christmas special.

Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the show. A February interview with Moffat can be viewed below.
