AMC confirms 'Into The Badlands' Season 2 Release Date, Nick Frost Featured in New Trailer [VIDEO]
The first season of AMC's latest post-apocalyptic series, Into The Badlands, was met with relatively positive reviews thanks to its unique take on humanity's future that is apparently chock-full of kung-fu action. Now, the network has finally revealed the official release date of the show's highly awaited second season.
Aside from AMC's other post-apocalyptic show, The Walking Dead, the new series offers viewers a unique take on the fall of humanity. The series itself takes place centuries into the future, in a place where guns have gone extinct and people have been forced to come back to the lost martial arts in order to survive the harsh new world.
Into The Badlands Season 1 ended with the capture of Sunny, played by Daniel Wu. His captor, the River King, played by Lance E. Nichols, then decides to sell him into slavery. According to Empire Online, this will probably be where things will be picked up in the second season, and fans can be sure that Sunny will be able to fight his way into freedom in just the first few episodes.
However, the recently release trailer for the upcoming new season seems to indicate that other characters in the show may be showing off their own moves this time around. The trailer itself showcases some amazing fight choreography involving Stephen Lang as Waldo and Emily Beecham as The Window. Based on the trailer, fans should expect quite a bit more gore in the coming new episodes which will involve other characters in the show.
The show's executive producers and creators, Al Gough and Miles Millar, recently teased that the next season will, in fact, be taking audiences deeper into the world of the Badlands. The next season will apparently also introduce new barons, new enemies, and new locations which will open up the show's bigger world. The creators also expressed their delight in having the chance to work with Nicholas John "Nick" Frost, who they described to be "absolutely brilliant" in his new role.
