Though there is still no official announcement from CBS regarding Hawaii Five-0 Season 8 renewal, the chances of the next season getting a green light seem quite bright. The current season has shown an upward trend in terms of ratings and thus, fans need not harbor fear like they had a year ago.

Hawaii Five-0 Season 7 is witnessing a wonderful phenomenon as the live+same-day ratings have climbed up, reports CarterMatt. The numbers are moving in a positive direction and up to this date, the season has seen an almost 8% rise in the 18-49 demographics as compared to the last season. In terms of total viewers, the rise has been recorded at a slightly more than 10% and averaged more than 9.5 million viewers a week.

As far as the demo is concerned, the CBS police procedural TV series is averaging the same figure that it was clocking in Season 5 but as of now, Season 7 has proven to be the most-watched since Season 4. The show is in pretty good state and fans can take heart from this positive fact.

It is worth mentioning here that two actors, Masi Oka and Alex O'Loughlin, have announced their departure from the show, reports Entertainment Weekly. And, the successful run of Season 7 even after the exit is something that has to be taken into account. This season is doing better because the story has become more character-centric. In fact, it is the first season that has invested so much into characters.

Apart from the weekly cases, viewers also get to know about the family and love life of the characters and what motivates them. Another reason that has contributed to the high ratings is the streaming on Netflix. The show's performance on different channels has drawn more viewers and those who were not aware of it are also watching it.

Lastly, the fact that another CBS show MacGyver carries the same tone and content, has proven favorable for the show. Viewers who like the former also follow the latter. So, it is reasonable to pin hopes on the renewal of Hawaii Five-0 Season 8.
