'The Bachelor': Nick Viall Ripped By Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos, 'You Need To Be Single' [VIDEO]
His journey on the Bachelor has been getting ripped pretty brutally, especially since it's his fourth time trying to find love in the franchise, but now, Nick Viall is being cautioned to make sure he doesn't even choose a woman at the end of his season and remain single instead.
The 36-year-old has been making the rounds on morning TV shows, and during his appearance on Live With Kelly today, he was playfully slammed by host Kelly Ripa and her co-host of the week, her husband, Mark Consuelos.
The couple roasted Viall, joking that watching him on TV was getting painful, and they thought the best thing for him would be to remain single.
"Nick, I watched this last night-and I didn't sleep very well," Consuelos said. "But I figured it out: You need to be single. Look at you!"
"You like the thrill of the hunt," Ripa added. "I feel like you need to find love outside of TV. We used to meet at the club, or at work...Go to the bars!"
Viall playfully wondered what the two would think however if his journey this time around proved to be successful, only to get further roasted.
"But what if this all works out?" He asked.
"That's a big 'if' dude," Consuelos joked.
Of course, the joke could have also been taken in a way that wasn't a direct dig at Viall, but the franchise he's chosen to try and find love in instead. Overall, the show, which has Nick as the season 21 star of The Bachelor, and has also aired 12 seasons of the companion series The Bachelorette (where Viall was a two-time runner-up), three seasons of Bachelor Pad, and three seasons of Bachelor in paradise, where Viall also tried to find love, doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to lasting relationships.
Of the two main shows in the franchise, only Sean Lowe so far has married the woman he chose at the end of his season, Catherine Giudici. Ben Higgins is still engaged to Lauren Bushnell, though the two haven't set a date, and Jason Mesnick dumped initial pick Melissa Rycroft for runner-up Molly Melaney. To date, Mesnick and Lowe are the onle ones who have married someone from the franchise.
The Bachelorette has been somewhat more successful, with Trista Rehn (season 1) Ashley Hebert (Season 7), and Desiree Hartsock (Season 9) all marrying the men they chose at the end of their seasons, while Kaitlyn Bristowe (Season 11) and JoJo Fletcher (Season 12) are still engaged to the men they chose as well.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
