‘Ark: Survival Evolved’ News, Update: Valentine’s Day Event Still Ongoing; Dinosaur Breeding Time And Range Increased
Love is still in the air in Studio Wildcard's open-world dinosaur survival game, "Ark: Survival Evolved." Fans can still take full advantage of the developer's Valentine's Day event like the dinosaur's mating range and speed, exclusive items and others more.
Fans who are playing "Ark: Survival Evolved" during this Valentine's Day event will receive the ability to gain one new character emote as well as a new hairstyle for both male and female avatars, according to Studio Wildcard. There is also a 5 percent chance for a Box of Chocolate to drop whenever dinosaurs mate.
These boxes, as said on the announcement blog post, can be used to heal the character back to its full health. Players can also use the Box of Chocolates to increase a creature's taming bar to 50 percent.
However, the main highlight of the "Ark: Survival Evolved" Valentine's Day event is the bonuses in dinosaur's mating. All servers in the game - even the official ones - that have the command line "-vday" will get several boosts in the dinosaurs' mating process.
To be more specific, the dinosaurs' mate range in "Ark: Survival Evolved" is now boosted to two times when playing on the servers with the command line, and the mating speed and recovery have been increased by three times. The creature maturing and egg incubation speed has also been affected by this event, and it is now increased by three times, while the baby food consumption is decreased by 1/3.
Meanwhile, there have been several player reports that have popped up, stating that the chocolates are now showing up inside their inventories even after they picked it up. Luckily, PC Gamer has reported that a simple Steam client restart after the patch should fix this minor problem.
Fans should now jump inside "Ark: Survival Evolved" as the Valentine's Day event isn't going to last long. The event will only run until Feb. 20, 2017, as listed on the 254.93 patch notes.
