Bates Motel returns for its fifth and final season tonight, and you won't want to miss any of the action.

When Bates Motel left off in season 4, Norman (Freddie Highmore) had finally done what the entire show was leading up to: kill his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga). The final episode of season 4 featured Norman grieving over the loss of his beloved mother, leaving things very up in the air for what's to come.

Those who have seen the teaser for season 5 know that Bates Motel is about to feature a huge guest star: Rihanna (yes, that Rihanna!). The singer is playing hotel guest Marion Crane, who Psycho fans will recognize as the tragic character who has a rather unfortunate shower experience in the film. It remains to be seen if Rihanna's version will suffer the same fate, but it's probably not looking good for her.

Season 5 will pick up about two years after the death of Norma, with "Norman, a grown man now, living a double life," says A&E. "Publicly he's a happy and well-adjusted member of the White Pine Bay community, but at home Norman struggles; his violent blackouts continue to increase as 'Mother' threatens to take over his mind completely."

The final season of Bates Motel airs Monday night at 10/9c on A&E. The season premiere will also be available to live stream on the A&E website, though you'll need to enter cable subscription information.

For cord-cutters, A&E is also available on Sling TV. You can sign up for a free trial if you don't already have the app.
