Although there hasn't been much news making its way across the web on USA's Psych, there has been some chatter igniting over its Season 7 finale episode that aired on Wednesday, which is titled No Trout About It.

The highly anticipated installment featured Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) attempting to keep the department from being dominated by a brand new authoritative character named Trout, who was played by Anthony Michael Hall. The power happy figure comes in vowing to make some big changes to the way business is conducted, according to Carter Matt.

The TV site suspects that the finale episode was "a pretty big game changer for a show that has largely done things the same way for quite a long time."

Trout is the new police chief who didn't waste any time trying to establish his superiority. To top it off, he also informed Shawn and Gus that they're no longer looking to hire psychic detectives.

The Season 7 finale didn't exactly address the way Shawn and Gus' relationships abruptly went the way they did in the previous episode. However, the twists and turns of the storyline will surely have a long-term effect on the main characters' livelihoods moving forward.

While Season 8 of Psych won't be airing until early 2014, a two-hour musical special will be gracing the small screen at some point in the fall. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular TV series.
