'Lego Worlds' For PS4, Xbox One, PC Set For March 7 Release
A final release date for the highly-anticipated new sandbox open world video game, "Lego Worlds," has finally been announced. After slight delays and the conclusion of the game's beta of Steam Early Access, Lego fans can now finally look forward to the game arriving for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC next month, on March 7.
According to Bleeding Cool, the March 7 release date for "Lego Worlds" will be for North American players. European players on the other hand will be getting the game a few days later, on March 10. Aside from the three gaming systems mentioned above, the game is also set to be released for the upcoming new Nintendo gaming console, the Nintendo Switch. However, no official details have yet been announced regarding the Switch version's release window.
The brand new video game, developed by Traveller's Tales, is akin to the infamous "Minecraft" sandbox video in terms of its gameplay mechanics. Gamers who enjoy building and exploring new worlds, created by both the developers and other gamers, will surely enjoy the upcoming game thanks to its various new multiplayer and online features, as per a report from PlayStation.
Similar to "Minecraft," players in "Lego Worlds" will be able to fully customize the world around them via the game's "brink-by-brick editor tool." However, several other options such as premade Lego structures will be available. Additionally, players also have access to various weapons, vehicles and tamable animals within the game.
Players also have the option to fully customize their character from the hundreds of Lego models that are available in the franchise's vast collections. The game's developers even went as far as saying that everything that could be built with Lego in real-life can be imitated within the game itself and much more.
Different missions and objectives are also provided for players, who then get different rewards in the form of the game's in-game currency called "studs." For those who want a more cooperative experience, the game will feature an online multiplayer world-sharing mode that lets players interact and explore each other's creations.
