‘Ark: Survival Evolved’ Update: Patch V255 Coming Out On Feb. 24; Studio Wildcard Adds New Tek Tier Items
A new update is now set to come out for Studio Wildcard's open-world dinosaur game, "Ark: Survival Evolved." This new patch, V255, will introduce many additions into the title including new buildings for the Tek Tier as well as dinosaur breeds.
The "Ark: Survival Evolved" Patch V255 is going to be released on Friday, Feb. 24, according to the forum announcement. Those who will download the update can expect to see new structures added into the game for Tek Tier, mainly the Tek Shield Generator, Tek Tileset and Tek Doors.
As for the new dino breeds in "Ark: Survival Evolved," fans can expect to see the Electrophorus, Microraptor, Ammonite and Thylacoleo running wild in their own habitats once Patch V255 rolls in. And lastly, four new head hairstyles and facial hairstyles are going to be added on the upcoming update, which can be acquired from the Explorer Notes.
For the ones who prefer to play on Player Versus Environment (PVE) servers in "Ark: Survival Evolved," though, Patch V255 will introduce a new per-Tribe Dino Tame limit option. Tribes will now have a limit for the dinosaurs they can tame, which is currently at 400 max.
Studio Wildcard did not exactly go into specific details on where this limit cap will be implemented in "Ark: Survival Evolved." However, iDigitalTimes has stated that this could be a limit for the PC, considering that the console versions, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, already have the same cap, but it's only at 250.
Meanwhile, on different "Ark: Survival Evolved" related news, the game's Virtual Reality (VR) standalone title, dubbed "Ark Park," has just received its first in-game footage. Slated to come out sometime this year, the VR game will let players experience what it's like to be up close and personal with the dinosaurs in the "Jurassic Park"-like a simulator.
The VR version of "Ark: Survival Evolved" is compatible with current VR headsets, specifically the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift for the PC and PlayStation VR for PS4 and PS4 Pro from Sony. No specific launch date yet coming from developer Snail Games for "Ark Park." More news about the matter should emerge in the coming months.
