NeNe Leakes Wedding Date: 'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Star Tweets 'Weeks Away,' 'Moved Up To June,' Says Source
NeNe Leakes has been filming her spinoff reality show, I Dream Of NeNe, since she completed filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 5 and the reunion specials wrapped in March and both she and a report revealed her second wedding is scheduled for sooner than rumored.
A fan asked Leakes on Twitter on May 8, "NeNe, when is the wedding" and the television star tweeted the reply, "just weeks away."
A new report revealed that the reality star's original wedding date was planned for a month from now but it was moved up one week.
"The wedding date, which was originally scheduled June 29, 2013 at an undisclosed location, has recently been moved up to June 22, 2013," StraightFromTheA.com reported.
Bravo announced on April 18 that Leakes acquired her own spinoff show which will follow Leakes plan her wedding to fiancé/former husband Gregg Leakes and it is set to air this fall. The show will follow NeNe when she butts heads with Atlanta's top wedding planner Tiffany Cook. Cook also planned the wedding for NeNe's co-star Porsha Stewart to Kordell Stewart.
NeNe and Gregg first met in 1996, got married and divorced in 2011 after 13 years of marriage. Together they have a son, Brentt, 14. NeNe also has a son from a previous relationship. Gregg said that the couple split when "fame got to (NeNe's) head" after he had invested $300,000 in her career during their marriage.
The primetime NBC show Leakes had a recurring role on was recently canceled but according to a source, she will return to TRHOA for season 6.
"NeNe is definitely going to be back because of course she's the star and even though she has other jobs RHOA wouldn't be the same without her!" a source told Radar Online.
The insider revealed that NeNe received a hefty pay raise to $1 million plus bonuses to appear on the reality show.
Leakes revealed on Twitter in April that she selected her RHOA co-star Cynthia Bailey to be one of her bridesmaids. She also added stars from VH1's Basketball Wives Los Angeles to the bridal party, Jennifer Williams and Laura Govan.
