'Homeland' Season 3 Spoilers: Senator Lockhart Getting Beefier Role Amid Nicholas Brody Manhunt, VIDEO & Details
Although Showtime's hit TV series Homeland is still on hiatus until its fall return for Season 3, that hasn't stopped the spoilers from quickly starting up again.
Deadline reported that the newbie character of Senator Andrew Lockhart (Tracy Letts) will be upgraded to a series regular for the show's upcoming installment. Senator Lockhart is known for being a powerful and authoritative Committee Chairman that asks the hard questions that must be answered in lieu of a seriously damaging terror attack against U.S. intelligence.
The respective situation had set off a worldwide manhunt for the world's most wanted terrorist in Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis).
Interestingly enough, Letts had initially been confirmed to take on a recurring role, but something in the creative process must've been drastically altered for the original plans for the character to be scrapped, according the site.
Letts aside, the TV series' third season will also see upgrades to regular roles for actors F. Murray Abraham and Sarita Choudhury.
Showtime's Homeland will be kicking off its third season on Sunday, September 29th at 9/8 p.m. Central. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular cable network series.
