‘The Fosters’ Season 4 Sizzles, Touches On Gay Sex Ed, Pregnancy And Abortion Issues
"The Fosters" Season 4 just got more interesting with the sizzling storyline showed in Episode 15. Televisions views could not be content just watching relevant issues like gay sex education and abortion.
"We're going to get into some interesting issues about sex education for the LGBT community in schools," executive producer Joanna Johnson of "The Fosters" said. "They don't have that. So where do kids go to learn about gay sex, and about what they should be wary of or looking for?"
"The Fosters" take on these subjects commonly faced by teens and families today is so matter-of-fact, that fans have taken the discussion online. It was definitely the time to shine for Jude, played here by Hayden Byerly, who has become popular for his voice roles in video games like "Lightning Returns: Final fantasy XIII" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops II."
Episode 15 of "The Fosters" showed the disappointment of Jude when his school's sex education class failed to include information on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or LGBT sex, according to TVLine.
This is surprising considering the world has become so liberated it now allows same sex marriages. This has elicited comments from viewers about how schools expected the campaign on safe sex to fly when it does not engage the entire demographic when it comes to sex education.
"The Fosters' showed the dangers faced by young people like Jude, when they are not given the appropriate sex education in schools. With his curiosity aroused, Jude tried to use a dating app that has proven more dangerous than useful for him. Jude pretends to be older than his age to get someone from the LGBT community to respond to him through the dating app.
While the sex-ed issue got the most interest during episode 15 of "The Fosters", there were other equally controversial issues taken by this bold and fearless television drama, according to EconoTimes. It also featured the pregnancy of Emma, but did not make a judgment on her decision to get an abortion. The simplicity by which the issue was tackled by "The Fosters' episode created more impact for the storyline.
