Just over a month away from the launch of its second season, HBO's The Newsroom recently released a brand new trailer, which features the entire cast on a desert minus the likes of Jane Fonda, who is seen on a billboard.

The respective tagline for the show says the following:

"Together they stand alone."

The sophomore installment of creator Aaron Sorkin's cable TV hit will revolve around the 2012 election, deal with Wall Street and also serve to further develop the complex characters that encompass the program.

"Anybody coming to it new, is not going to have much trouble picking up what's going on," Sorkin said via video interview in May.

Sorkin had previously suggested to viewers that his characters will be prepping "for a deposition in a wrongful termination lawsuit that is going to hold some rather huge implications for their careers," according to Carter Matt.

Sorkin said they'll be further friction between Will and Mackenzie, but he won't stop holding back due to her infidelity years earlier. However, he stated that Don and Sloan will continue to flirt while Jim goes on the road to cover the Mitt Romney campaign.

HBO's The Newsroom is set to make its Season 2 return on Sunday July 14. Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular series. The latest trailer can be watched below.
