"The Vampire Diaries" recently had its curtain call and the fans all had a bittersweet goodbye to the series that ran for eight years. Now that "TVD" fever is already over and done with, fans are hoping for a spinoff. Will The CW grant a request for "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff?

According to AOL, co-creator Julie Plec has divulged the possibility of "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff. The existence of the said spinoff is very timely considering that "The Originals" Season 4 recently debuted last March 17.

"The Vampire Diaries" spinoff was given hope when the finale showed Caroline Forbes opening a school for supernatural children funded by Klaus. Although it could very much be an opening for the next "X-Men" film, it seems like the viewers got the impression that "The Vampire Diaries" finale can actually serve as a beginning of something new.

Meanwhile, in "The Originals," Caroline and Klaus are present but they do not interact. However, the fans are not closing their doors and are still hoping to get "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff feels in "The Originals" Season 4.

Julie Plec also shared that she is not closing her doors to a possible "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff to be aired after "The Originals" finale or to start off a whole new series in the same franchise. However, the showrunner revealed that new developments for the franchise might not be revealed anytime soon as she plans to take a break for a while.

"There's a lot of different things floating around in my head," Julie Plec said. "The first thing I'm going to do is not write and take a vacation. And then when I come back on the other side of that I'm going to go back to work," she added.

It seems like the cast and crew of "The Vampire Diaries" really need to take a much-needed break. However, it seems like "TVD" star, Kat Graham, is enjoying her break a bit too much. According to Express UK, the actress was reportedly rushed to a hospital after eating a cannabis brownie.

Meanwhile, Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, shared that "The Originals" is not connected to the timeline of "The Vampire Diaries" which could mean that the former could run for more seasons despite the ending of Elena and the gang's era.
