It has been roughly four months since fans and viewers have not seen the series on televisions. This would be one of the reasons why "Poldark" season 3 has been highly anticipated to return. The previous season finale left fans with cliffhanging scenes that include the series' main love triangle, Aidan Turner's Ross, Eleanor Tomlinson's Demelza and Heida Reed's Elizabeth Warleggan.
One of the updates revealed by the network regarding the upcoming "Poldark" season 3 is the new addition of cast lineups and characters. According to Carter Matt, the names are reportedly familiar to those who have already read the Poldark novels.
Announced on the show's official social media account, actor John Hopkins will be adding to the cast members of "Poldark" season 3 and he will play the role of Sir Francis Basset. Aside from that, actress Esme Coy and "Brief Encounter" star, Will Merrick will also join the upcoming season as Rowella Chynoweth and Arthur Solway, respectively. Fans are surely excited as to how the additional characters could make an impact on the series.
Meanwhile, one of the most anticipated revelation to happen on "Poldark" season 3 is the identity of Elizabeth's baby's father. On the previous finale, it was still unclear if Ross is really the father of Elizabeth's unborn child because a lot could reportedly change on how the story will go from the events in the novel. Radio Times reported that the intimate scene between the two characters made a high speculation by fans that he really is undoubtedly the father.
Additionally, the source reported that the intimate scene was not meant to depict that Ross had raped Elizabeth, contrary to what some fans have been saying. Executive producer, Debbie Horsfield mentioned that it would depend on how the viewers understand it, but she added that Elizabeth liked what Ross had done from the start, meaning to say that their act was mutual. Moreover, a lot of big revelations are still to come once "Poldark" season 3 comes back in fall this year.
