'Dancing With the Stars' 2017: Julianne Hough Reveals Her 5 Favorite Contestants Thus Far [VIDEO]
Dancing With the Stars judge Julianne Hough has already picked out her favorite dancers from this season.
Hough definitely has her preferences when it comes to the season 24 cast. The dancer-turned-judge revealed her five favorite dancers among the cast in a new interview with PopSugar:
"I actually have a lot. It's a really strong cast this season," she said, when asked about her favorite contestant. "I really love David Ross and Lindsay [Arnold]. I thought that they were just refreshing and a breath of fresh air. Rashad [Jennings] was obviously amazing; Simone [Biles]; Heather [Morris]; I loved Mr. T. I don't know how far he's going to make it in the competition, but as far as his heart and his warmth, you think he's going to be this big tough guy and then, he's just the sweetest, [kindest] man."
Biles, Jennings, Morris and Ross have all proven that they could be major contenders for the win so far, with strong scores and big fanbases. While Mr. T doesn't have great scores compared to the rest of this group, he certainly has the heart and nostalgia factor that could propel him further into the competition than expected.
Right now, Jennings is at the top of the leaderboard after two weeks of competition, the only celebrity to get at least a 30 out of 40 from the judges in both weeks. Biles emerged as the top contender in the premiere though her Week 2 score brought down her average. Meanwhile, Morris was criticized by judge Len Goodman for having a hip-hop inspired breakdown in her Week 2 dance, and has received some backlash for having previous dance experience before the show.
Ross seems to be emerging as the older male archetype who is doing his best and proving he can hang with the younger crowd. Ross is somewhere in the middle of the leaderboard, but he seems to inspire enough passion as a likable guy that he could get further than people who even have better scores than him.
Things can change on a dime on Dancing With the Stars, so we will see if Hough's picks make it deep into the competition.
Dancing With the Stars season 24 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
