'Walking Dead' Season 4 Premiere: 'So Much More To Go' With Future Storylines, Including Carl's Darkness? NEW VIDEO
While fans of the AMC hit TV series The Walking Dead have clearly been won over by the show's creative brass and cast, its upcoming installment will apparently be raising that bar of approval even higher.
According to a recent video from Season 4, executive producer Greg Nicotero, who has the honor of directing its returning episode, proclaimed that the program will be "the best season yet" upon its return in the fall.
To top it off, Nicotero went on to state that the zombie thriller still hasn't even brushed the surface in terms of material and storyline.
"We all share the same feeling. That our rocket is poised on a launchpad, and we still have so much more to go," he said.
In an interview with IGN conducted in April, WD comic book creator/executive producer Robert Kirkman revealed details on a storyline that will surely be one of the focal points moving forward from Season 3; the friction between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his darkly changing son Carl (Chandler Riggs).
"We're going to see a different Rick, but one of his main goals is to manage this situation with Carl and see if he can bring him back from this darkness that's crept into him. Whether or note he's able to do that, we'll have to see. But this is a big change in the character of Carl, but it's something that's going to be weighing heavily on Rick this season," he explained.
AMC's The Walking Dead will be kicking off on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8 p.m. Central. The cast and crew are currently filming in Griffin, Ga.
