To the excitement of its numerous loyalists, HBO's hit vampire series, True Blood, is just over a week away from its Season 6 premiere next Sunday.

While there hasn't been any new dirt on the show for quite some time, an extremely informative photo was recently posted by DreadCentral. The juicy picture was reportedly taken from Entertainment Weekly for its Summer TV Preview Issue.

The still shot features the likes of Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) unsuccessfully attempting to pierce Bill's (Stephen Moyer) heart with a wooden stake. Judging by what's occurring in the photo, it seems as though the two allies won't be quite so friendly with one another moving forward.

The first two episodes of the sixth season will reportedly bring about some serious controversy in Bon Temps, including a "pivotal death, a threesome, a Hoyt shout-out, all kinds of fancy new anti-vampire weaponry and a horrifying glimpse into the future that may or may not foreshadow [a major death]," according to TVLine.

HBO's True Blood is set to return for its Season 6 on Sunday, June 16 at 9/8 p.m. Central on the HBO network. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the cable network TV series.
