AMC's The Walking Dead continues to garner a massive amount of anticipation for the fall release of its fourth season.

Following the unexpected death of longtime show regular Andrea (Laurie Holden) to close out Season 3, loyalists of the zombie TV series are clearly aware that the killing off of one of their favorite characters is always a very realistic possibility within the realm of the program.

While fans initially took the prospect of a Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) death very lightly, it's a topic that TWD producers haven't shied away from. In late April, executive producer Robert Kirkman had even given AMC the reasons to justify the prison leader biting the dust.

"We've been saying that no one is safe on this show, and I wouldn't rule out seeing the death of Rick Grimes at almost any point. We really like to keep people guessing, and I could definitely see some interesting stories coming from that. While Rick has been a pretty solid leader, he's definitely made his share of mistakes," he explained.

AMC's The Walking Dead will be kicking off on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8 p.m. Central. The cast and crew are currently filming in Griffin, Ga.
