Although Sherlock has been off the small screen for quite some time now, production of its highly anticipated third season is currently taking place.

While showrunner Steven Moffat is known to keep his lips sealed on any info pertaining to his scripted shows, he actually gave fans three one-word hints about what may lie ahead on its upcoming installment's' '"rat, "wedding," and "bow."'

According to Wikipedia, the rat may be referring to The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire, the wedding could very well be related to The Noble Bachelor, and the bow could be tied to His Last Bow.

All three potential stories would undoubtedly have a huge effect on the characters moving forward. However, it's the third mentioned title, His Last Bow, that could very well be the most pivotal, as it refers to Sherlock Holmes' last case prior to his retirement.

In other Sherlock news, Moffat recently addressed what he feels draws audiences to the popular British TV series, according to International Digital Times.

"Conan Doyle's stories were never about frock coats and gas light; they're about brilliant detection, dreadful villains and blood-curdling crimes -and frankly, to hell with the crinoline. Other detectives have cases, Sherlock Holmes has adventures, and that's what matters," he explained.

BBC's Sherlock will be making its return for Season 3 on Thursday, October 31. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the TV series.
