'Girl Meets World' Premiere Date Still Unknown, May Have Guest Appearance From Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter
Rider Strong recently admitted that he might make an appearance in the new Disney Channel Boy Meets World spinoff, Girl Meets World.
While he was not originally announced as part of the cast, Strong may reprise his role of Shawn Hunter as a guest star, the actor revealed in an interview with E!.
""I feel like I should show up at some point and finish the storyline," Strong said. "We've been talking. I just want it to be done right. I really want it to be classy and good. I want it to be something that makes the fans proud."
Shawn Hunter was always the bad boy of the Boy Meets World clan. His life didn't exactly play out to be picture perfect like that Matthews', and if he appeared in the new show, Strong doesn't want his character to be quite as distressed as he previously was.
"I'd like to see him happier," Strong said. "I feel like Shawn was destined for tragedy."
Don't worry, though. This doesn't mean Shawn and Cory (Ben Savage) wouldn't have a chance to get up to their usual hijinks.
"I think he's got to be in trouble of some kind and he's got to pull Cory into trouble," Strong admitted. "That's definitely the way it's going to be because that's always how it went."
It is currently unknown when Girl Meets World will air.
