Kandi Burruss is facing a lawsuit just weeks ahead of the season ten premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo.

Charles Eric Busbee filed court documents with the Superior Court of Fulton County after he had an agreement to execute construction services for Burruss’ Old Lady Gang’s Southern Cuisine Restaurant. He had an agreement with Burruss, her husband Todd Tucker, and architect Cedric T. Drayton on March 19, 2016.

Busbee was given a check for $7,414 on June 17, 2016, to reflect his performance.

“Plaintiff was asked by Mr. Drayton to wait until a week to present the check to the bank,”the complaint read according to Radar Online recently. “The end of the following week came and on June 24, 2016 you indicated that the check you deposited to cover the check written to me on June 12, 2016 had not cleared.”

Things got worse when Busbee was given two more checks on June 23, 2016. One was for $7, 167 and the other was for $1, 931.”

“At that time, you indicated you were expecting a monetary draw from the client, Todd Tucker, the following week. On June 28, 2016, I went to the bank to liquidate the checks and again, I learned that not only were the checks no good, but that a deposit had not been made into the account.”

Busbee said he subsequently had to use his own money to pay his team.

Drayton confessed in court the following September that he did not pay Busbee in the amount they agreed. He then said he could make payments for a year. But the court documents state Busbee has not been given anything.

“Under the agreements made, Defendants owes Plaintiff $16, 512.”

Burruss has stayed quiet about the legal action.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta returns to Bravo Nov. 5 at 8/7c.
