'Walking Dead' Season 4 Premiere: How Long Will The Governor Continue On For? VIDEO & Details
Even in its furthest moments from returning to the AMC network, The Walking Dead continues to garner unprecedented interest for its fourth installment, which isn't scheduled to kick off until the fall.
One character's future that's undoubtedly piqued the curiosity of WD loyalists is the Governor (David Morrissey), whom many assumed would be killed off by Season 3's end.
Comic book writer and executive producer Robert Kirkman had previously addressed villain's fate to Horror-Movies, and it appears that the creative brass knew from the get go that the corrupt ex-Woodbury leader would be returning all along.
"The question will be answered [in] Season 4. We always had a plan for this guy. We always knew that it was a bigger story than would fit into one season. There's still a lot more to be done with this guy. We've known from the very first minute of Season 3 that we would be keeping the Governor around for a while," he explained.
AMC's The Walking Dead will be kicking off on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8 p.m. Central. Only time will truly tell how long the Governor will continue on. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest details on the hit zombie series. Get an inside look at the fourth season below!
